Len & Edna looked after me from 1965-1967, when I was a student at the University of Birmingham. 'Mama' badland as I used to call her was a wonderful, caring and jovial lady. She was like a mum to me and I was treated like a son. She would always take my side whenever Len and I had a rather heated discussion on the subject of the day. Little did she know that (at least we thought that) we were just jostling for her attention!! I loved to hear about her choir singing and the opera stories. I will dearly miss you mama.
